What could Poland and Mexico possibly have in common? At first glance, not much. Two countries on different continents, separated by more than 10,000 kilometers. But for Pati (Polish) and Rafa (Mexican), their meeting at a university in New York in 2013 proved otherwise. As fate would have it, they were more alike than they ever imagined.

Both were ex-professional athletes, brought to the U.S. on full NCAA scholarships they couldn’t otherwise afford. Both were foreigners navigating a new culture, both raised to work hard from a young age and, let’s be honest, both pretty terrible at English back then (😂). More importantly, both shared a global mindset and an unstoppable drive to overachieve.

Founders' Story

The Birth of a Vision

Rafa, a former soccer player with big dreams, always knew he wanted to stay connected to the sport. After his athletic career, he worked for top sports corporations in New York but noticed a glaring gap in the market: There was no talent agency in LATAM dedicated to helping Latino soccer players maximize their earnings, protect their image, and secure financial stability after retirement. With a clear mission and an unwavering sense of purpose, Rafa decided to create StayPro.

In year 2015, he launched the agency with nothing but his savings and one player—his best friend from his junior club. Despite multiple offers from investors and partners, Rafa refused to give up ownership, choosing instead to bet everything on his vision. Operating from the U.S., he began building what would become a game-changing agency.

Meanwhile, Pati was making waves in the corporate world. Working in digital marketing for a billion-dollar financial company in New York, she tirelessly pushed to convince her boss that social media and influencer marketing were the future. Her persistence paid off she successfully established a new department dedicated to these emerging strategies.

Just when life seemed to be falling into place, everything changed. Both Rafa and Pati’s visas were not renewed, forcing them to leave the U.S.a moment that felt like a crushing setback. After careful consideration and the promising early success of StayPro in Mexico, they made a bold decision: to move to Mexico and give the business everything they had.

A Leap of Faith

A Leap of Faith

For Pati, the move was anything but easy. She didn’t speak Spanish (except for a few bad words) and knew no one. To make matters worse, a massive earthquake in 2018 destroyed her paperwork at the immigration office, making it impossible for her to get a job.

With plenty of free time and her passion for social media, Pati started connecting with female Mexican creators on Instagram. Invited to PR events, she quickly built relationships with influencers striving to turn their social media presence into a full-time career. What struck her most—besides how warm and welcoming Mexicans were—was the lack of professional guidance for content creators. Many didn’t know how much to charge brands, how to negotiate, or how to protect their careers in the long run.

Seeing an enormous opportunity, Pati proposed an idea: StayOnSocial, a new division within StayPro focused on helping digital creators elevate their careers and maximize their income through brand partnerships. With Rafa as her business partner, StayPro Group was officially born—two divisions, one mission: to be a true partner in talent’s success.
